Wildcat

I don't even remember where I got this animal print dress, but it is a favorite. It's comfortable and makes me feel good.
I don't really have time to devise a Halloween costume this year.  My wildcat pose below is as close as I'll get, LOL!

Some Day My Prints Will Come...

...and Monday was that day!  I am so in love with this blouse I thrifted!

The One Where I'm Frustrated...

I Haven't posted the past few days due to work and dress rehearsal that ran late, not to mention issues with two different cameras and my cell phone.  Hopefully I'm back on track and in full blogger mode!  One of my cameras ate Monday's outfit, but as luck would have it I did manage to hold on to my close up of the smidge of pink that closed out my breast cancer aWEARness posts:
Scarf: Kate Spade (thrifted)
Thankfully, taking pictures of Tuesday and Wednesday's outfits was less eventful:
Earrings: Gabriel Brothers Sweater top and Skirt: all TJ Maxx Boots: Dillards Bracelet: Target

Dress and Sweater: TJ Maxx Flats: Thrifted Necklace: Alex and Ani via TJ Maxx Bag: Target I was upset that I forgot to wear purple today to protest domestic violence and
teen bullying.  Especially since I live in an area of the country that has been in the news for teen suicides that were prompted by bullying. Does the purple in my dress count?

Friday!

I wish I could've found a more clever title for today's blog, but it's been a long week, so the word Friday is bringing joy to my heart right now!  Here's my ready for the weekend outfit:
Earrings: NY&CO Jacket: Old Navy Shirt: Kohls Knit Pants: Target Pink Flower Pin: Very old.  From sweater I purchased at now defunct department store.
Pink pumps.  I think I paid a whole whopping $5 for these!
 Closeup of ancient sweater pin.
Bangles: the colied one is from Plato's Closet.  Most of the clothes there don't fir me, but they ahve awesome accessories!
Embroidery on my shirt.

One more thing.  I love the idea of wearing pink to promote breast cancer awareness, but because I'm an information professional (i.e.librarian) I wanted to add some helpful links to breast cancer resources.  I am not a medical practitioner, and neither are the people at your local library.  They can't treat your cancer, but they can help you find support materials like books and websites to help you cope while you seek care to fight this disease.
The National Cancer Institute's Breast Cancer Page
Has info on testing, treatment, clinical trials, etc.  Good starting point!

Susan G. Komen Foundation
They do great work to raise awareness of this horrible disease.

Your library also might have a consumer health page like mine does that will help you. Many libraries also offer access to consumer health and wellness databases, such as Health and Wellness Resource Center to their customers.

One Mo' Time

OK, I'm going to try to post Wednesday's outfit again.  This post was originally entitled "Softy" because of the comfy yet dressy ponte knit skirt and jacket I wore.  Tuesday often means a late orchestra rehearsal and so I want something comfortable to wear to work upon rolling out of bed Wednesday morning!

Earrings pink bangle and Jacket: NY&CO Silver Bangle: Steve & Barrys Bag: Nine West via Burlington Coat Factory Blouse: Ann Taylor Skirt: Walmart Booties: Steve Madden ($10!)

Hello Kitty is wearing her pink too!

It was a little chilly Wednesday moring, so I wore my pink coat.

Rising to the Occasion

OK, so I discovered Blogger ate Wednesday's post.  I'll try to repost later, as there's a LOT going on today: business lunch, afternoon meeting, and band concert after work.  I also needed to find something pink to wear for Breast Cancer AWEARness week, which was a bigger challenge since we wear black for concerts.  Here's what I dreamed up:
Earrings: Dillards  Necklace: gift  from Dad's girlfriend, E2.  She also gave me great matching earrings and I managed to lose one the first time I wore them :(  Jacket: TJ Maxx Dress: Thrifted  Pink French Horn Pin: I gave this to my godmother when I was in high school.  I found it when we cleaned out her apartment after she passed away.  She had kept it all these years:) Scarf: gift Shoes: Sofft   I am also wearing my Hello Kitty watch again.  I love wearing it on days when I have to be "grown up". It reminds me not to take myself too seriously! Nails: sparkly green.  just because...

When I take off the jacket, i'm all set for my band concert!  I LOVE the detail on this dress! (see below)

Breast Cancer AWEARness Week: Shades of Tuesday

I never know what to think about Tuesday.  It's better than Monday, but not as good as Wednesday, when the week's half over.  However, I do have orchestra on Tuesdays, and I LOVE that!  Here's my second installment for Breast Cancer AWEARness week, featuring shades of coral pink:

Earrings: Kohls.  Worn a million times.  Sweater: Stein Mart  Coral Pink Shell: The Limited (very old) Bag: Kohls (check out the pink flowers!) Skirt: Thrifted Tights: TJ Maxx Shoes: Sofft  I discovered this brand last year.  They are so cute and comfortable.  I've got my eye on this pair...

Headed For the Middle...

Phew, can't believe it's midweek already.  I got home late from a long rehearsal last night, so Tuesday kind of bled over into Wednesday!  Here's Tuesday's outfit:
Earrings and Necklace: City Buddha Tie Dye Cardigan: Ebay Jeggings: Macy's French horn Case: Protec via Woodwind and Brasswind  Ankle Boots: Blowfish via DSW.  I LOVE these ankle boots, but my feet get cold in the fall and winter, so I bought some wool insoles from Pedag on Amazon to keep them warm!  Yes, this is a casual outfit for work, but we have a pretty laid back dress code if we don't have meetings that day.

Wednesday's outfit:
Scarf: F21, Brown Military Jacket: Thrifted , Skirt: NY&CO, Boots: Dillard's Sorry this pic is so dark.  I had every light on in the house, but the weather is really gloomy today.  Weather.com says sun and a high of 65 for tomorrow.  Yay!
