Blue and White and Red All Over...

OK, yes, I ripped off the old joke "what balck and white and re(a)d all over?", but it does describe today's outift.

Practicing this week :
The heavy routine from the Singer book
I love that piece, or anything for unaccompanied horn for that matter!  Looks like it will be on the new Michelle Stebleton CD which I must have!

Friday I'm In Love...

Mainly, I was just in love with the idea it was Friday.  It's also a pretty good song by The Cure...Anyway, after working all day Thursday and then playing a concert outside in the heat, I wasn't feeling too perky Friday and just wanted a casual outfit to wear to work:

Top: Steve and Barry's
Jeans: Target
Shoes: LEI via TJ Maxx
Watch: Burlington Coat Factory
Bracelet: Plato's Closet
Spoon Ring: Ebay
Silver band: Can't remember
Nail Polish: Rose Bowl from American Apparel

Day Into Night...

Thursday I had a cocktail party after work, followed by a concert, so I needed an outfit that would work for all three:

Sweater: Express
Cami: Forever 21
Skirt: H&M
Belt: Steve Madden via TJ Maxx
Shoes: Kohl's
Earrings: MOCA holiday craft show

The Exposition

In music, the exposition occurs at the beinning of the piece, when the main theme is introduced. It sort of establishes a "mood", so I thought this was an appropriate title for my first post.  So let me tell you a little about myself.  I work hard buying  CDs and other music related materials for a large public library system.  When I'm not doing that, I'm a french horn player.  I love fashion, and do my best to look good whatever I'm doing.  I've been thinking about doing a blog for a while, ever since I had "french horn pin week" on a social networking site.  Here are some photos:

Right now I'm doing a lot of outdoor summer concerts in the hot sun and sticky weather.  I couldn't make it through without:
Water Babies Sunscreen I need the high SPF with my fair skin
Jergens Natural Glow for a little color without the "fake bake" look.  As a bonus, it moisturizes!
Off  mosquito repellant to ward off mosquitos and other nasties.
Chop Saver lip balm  Keeps my lips from drying out, but isn't thick or waxy, so it doesn't interfere with my lips buzzing on the mouthpiece.  I love it!
Fat Cat slide grease: this is really a "beauty cream" for Siggy, my french horn.   It keeps his slides moving freely for a long time and doesn't evaporate or separate in extreme temperatures!   I'll tell you more about my beloved  Siggy in a future post...
