If you went to a college with lots of frats and sororities, you're probably familiar with the term "hell week". That's what the past few days have been like for me: problems coming from all directions, driving in lousy weather, feeling overloaded, etc. Hence, no blogging for me! I was lucky enough to have long weekends the past the two weeks. Weekend #1 was spent visiting my family and seeing Fright Night in 3-D. I also went to the museum where my Dad works to see the new exhibits. Did you know the first water lines were wooden?

I wish I could've found a more clever title for today's blog, but it's been a long week, so the word Friday is bringing joy to my heart right now! Here's my ready for the weekend outfit:

I love the idea of wearing pink to promote breast cancer awareness, but because I'm an information professional (i.e.librarian) I wanted to add some helpful links to breast cancer resources. I am not a medical practitioner, and neither are the people at your local library. They can't treat your cancer, but they can help you find support materials like books and websites to help you cope while you seek care to fight this disease.
The National Cancer Institute's Breast Cancer Page
Has info on testing, treatment, clinical trials, etc. Good starting point!

Susan G. Komen Foundation
They do great work to raise awareness of this horrible disease.

Your library also might have a consumer health page like mine does that will help you. Many libraries also offer access to consumer health and wellness databases, such as Health and Wellness Resource Center to their customers.

Phew, can't believe it's midweek already. I got home late from a long rehearsal last night, so Tuesday kind of bled over into Wednesday! Here's Tuesday's outfit:

Yes, this is a casual outfit for work, but we have a pretty laid back dress code if we don't have meetings that day.

This has been the second dark and gloomy weekend in a row, so I've been limited to indoor pics and activities. Today we went to see The Concert staring Melanie Laurent from Inglourious Basterds. It's one of the best movies I've seen all year. It was funny and touching in all the right places, and it's a great movie for anyone who's ever felt the need to get closure by finishing what they started. The Tchaikovsky violin concerto that is central to the plot sounded great, too! Afterwards we went for pizza and I spent some time playing my horn, Siggy.

The skirt and blouse I'm wearing today are nothing remarkable, so I didn't take pictures of them. I was just too tired after working all day and going to long unairconditioned rehearsals at night in this record breaking heat! I'm also trying to wrap up a project I've been working on for about a year which has dragged on due to circumstances beyond my control. It's left me tired and frustrated. I know I shouldn't feel that way. But I do. It's had me in tears twice this week, cause a few really bad headaches, and generally left me GRUMPY. However, I do love my jewelry and bag for today ! I'm back after a busy couple of months. Lots of concerts, vacation, etc and no time to blog. Monday night I watched Coco Before Chanel and I was dying to wear my striped shirt like the one Audrey Tatou wears for a good portion of the second half of the movie.

I also needed something I could grab quickly that looked good and was comfortable. I was up way too late last night after a long muggy Mozart rehearsal in an unaircondiitoned rehearsal hall. Then when I got home and decided to change the water in the turtle tank Sheldon went AWOL for a while. He eventually returned; dusty and holding a cheerio in his mouth! I have no idea where he went to get so dirty and I haven't bought cheerios in ages. All this led to less sleep and little enthusiam for getting up this morning. Fortunately, I can wear jeans in my department, along with aformentioned striped shirt and some killer earrings and heels! The Exposition

In music, the exposition occurs at the beinning of the piece, when the main theme is introduced. It sort of establishes a "mood", so I thought this was an appropriate title for my first post. So let me tell you a little about myself. I work hard buying CDs and other music related materials for a large public library system. When I'm not doing that, I'm a french horn player. I love fashion, and do my best to look good whatever I'm doing. I've been thinking about doing a blog for a while, ever since I had "french horn pin week" on a social networking site.
